Mechanical Engineering is mainly based on applying the principles of Physics and material science

For analysis,  design, manufacturing and maintenance of the mechanical systems by applying the principles of physics and material science is called as Mechanical Engineering. Mechanical Engineering is one of the groups of engineering field. This engineering field involves the production and also the usage of heat and also the mechanical power for design, production and operation of machines and tools. This field is considered as one of the oldest and as well as broadest field. This field needs the understanding the concept which includes the mechanics, kinematics, thermodynamics, material science, structural analysis and electricity. These mechanical engineers use this concepts with the mechanical tools such as computer aided engineering and product life cycle management which is mainly used to design and analyze the manufacturing the plant, industrial equipment and machinery, heating and cooling systems, transport systems, aircraft, watercraft, robotics, medical devices and also others.
This mechanical engineering arose when the industrial revolution in the Europe in 18th century takes place. Even the growth of mechanical engineering field can be found before the several thousand years which is around the world. In the 19th century growth of the field of Physics emerged Mechanical engineering. This field has evolved  the advancements in the field of technology and nowadays they are facing the developments in mechatronics, composites, and as well as nanotechnology. This mechanical engineering field combines with the aerospace engineering, building service engineering, metallurgical engineering, marine engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, petroleum engineering, manufacturing engineering and chemical engineering. Thus these Mechanical engineers work in the areas Biomedical engineering and also in the fields particularly such as Bio Mechanics, Transport phenomena, biomechatronics, bionanotechnology and also the modeling the bio systems such as soft tissue mechanics.
The degree for this mechanical engineering is given by all universities across the world. Mechanical engineering degree takes nearly 4 to 5 years of duration in Brazil, Ireland, Phillipines, Pakistan, China, Greece, Turkey, North America, South Asia, India and United Kingdom .Bachelor Engineering, Bachelor Science, Bachelor of Science Engineering, Bachelor of Technology or the Bachelor of applied Science are the engineering fields which are in emphasis with this Mechanical field.
In Spain, Portugal and most of South America where neither BSc nor B.Tech programs which they have been developed with the normal name called Mechanical Engineer and also the duration of this course is nearly is five to six years of training. In Italy the course of work are mainly based on five years of training. If people those want to become a engineer they need to qualify the state exam.
 In Australia mechanical engineering degrees are awarded as Bachelor of Engineering even though there is increasing in the number of specializations.To study this it will take nearly four years with full time. In United States most of the undergraduate engineering programs which are accredited by the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology. So this Accreditation Board of Engineering website lists nearly 276 colleges which are accredited for mechanical engineering programs. This was done in the year June 19 2006.
