Olay is one of the Proctor and Gamble multibillion brands and they are the American skin care Online.When the fiscal year completed in June 30, Olay gained the revenue for $79 billion but they estimated only about $2.8 billion dollars. Olay was first begun in South Africa as Oil of Olay. This was originated by Graham Wulff in the year 1916 to 2008 who is a previous Unilever chemist. He is from Durban and he started this in the year1949.Actually the name "Oil of Olay" was first choosen by Wulff as a turn on the word "Lanolin" which is the major key ingredient. It was different in the early days because it was like a pink fluid which is rather than a cream. This had been packed on the heavy glass bottle. Wulff and his partner who did the marketing for this product named Jack Lowe who is previous copy writer. They have tested this product with their wives and their friends and they came to know about their uniqueness and also about the quality.
Marketing of Olay was also different. They never said that this Olay was not a moisturizer or even as a beauty fluid. Nowhere on the packaging will say that what the product will actually do. Adverts always use the copy as "share the secret of younger looking you" and also talked about the beauty secret of Oil of Olay. Other adverts were written a personal message to the reader which is from the fictitious advice which is given by the Margaret Merril.
Under the Adam National Industries the company is run by the Wulff and Lowe. They did not sell the product to the trade but they waited for the pharmacies which is to ask for the consumer that is mainly based on the consumer needs and their requests.When the company has decided to market the product internationally they have decided to change the name of the product in each and every country. So that it will sound pleasing and will very realistic to all the consumers. Thus this led to the introduction of Oil of Ulay in United Kingdom and Ireland. Then Oil of Ulan in Australia and Oil of Olaz in France, Italy, Netherland and in Germany. So in 1970 Adams National Industries opened a test market in USA and Chicagoand they are extending this to northern Germany.

RVI was taking over by Procter and Gamble in the year 1985 and P&G had greatly expanded Olay in both the lineup and also in International and Olay became one of the main products of P&G which gained billion dollar brands in 2003. This brand also contains soap and body washes. Olay cosmetics were also launched in the year 1996 and they had discontinued in the year 2001. In 1999 they have decided to unify the brand under the global name.Thus Oil of Ulan and of Ulay became the worldwide products. Nowadays Olay became one of the populous brand in all over the world.
