Kolkata which is previously called as Calcutta and it is the capital of Indian state West Bengal. Kolkata is located in the east bank of the river Hoogly. They are the principles of commercial, educational and cultural center of East India. Port of Kolkata is considered as one of the oldest port in India. According to the report which is given in the year 2011 total population is 45 million. When it comes to the urban agglomeration it combines both the urban and suburbs and they are the home of nearly 14.1 million. Thus this makes the Kolkata as the third largest metropolitan city in India. According to the report which is obtained by the year 2008 the economic output which is measured by the gross domestic product and this ranked Kolkata as the third place in South Asian cities which is behind Mumbai and Delhi. Even though population is growing and city is developing widely urban population, poverty, traffic, congestion, overpopulation and other socioeconomic problems are also found.

When Nawab allowed the East India Company a trading license in 1960 and the area was developed by the company. Nawab Siraj ud-Daulah occupied Kolkata in 1756 and the East India Company took again and also in the year 1772 assumed sovereignty. Under the East India Company and later under the British Raj Kolkata became the capital of India till 1911. It faced many problems and they gave the capital to the New Delhi. So the city became the center for the Indian Independence Movement it began the hotbed of state politics.
After the Independence in 1947 it became the center for modern Indian education, science, culture and politics. Early 2000 economic rejuvenation and this have lead to dramatic growth. End of 19th century and in the early of 20th century Kolkata has developed more in the traditions in drama, art, film, theatre and literature have gained more importance. Even though there
